About
Perched on the commanding heights of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus, Ataraxia makes wines from its elevated position in Walker Bay, where cool ocean breezes and vineyard vistas define the experience. Named for a Greek word meaning "a serene state of mind," the estate embodies its philosophy through thoughtful winemaking shaped by its distinctive terroir and the vision of co-owner and winemaker Kevin Grant, whose international study trips inform an approach to crafting wines that reflect the region's cool-climate character.
