About
Kranskop is a boutique Robertson estate where winemaker Newald Marais has returned to his native Breede River Valley to craft wines using time-honored methods, most notably a traditional basket press that allows meticulous control over fermentation and flavor development. Set against the distinctive rocky ledge that inspired its name, the estate produces small-volume wines across reds, whites, rosé, and fortified varieties while maintaining environmental stewardship through its membership in the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative.
