About
Lozärn, a label honouring Kathleen 'Granny Kay' Smuts, who began farming in the valley in 1923, is made by the Smuts family on Doornbosch farm near Bonnievale. It is one of the few South African producers of Carménère, bottled on its own and in blends, alongside Malbec, Cabernet Franc, the Sebastian Chardonnay and Kay's Legacy, a Bordeaux-style red. The tasting room opens on Saturday mornings; other days are by appointment.
