About
De Waal Koch's family farm, Happy Vale, on the R44 at the foot of the Helderberg near Somerset West, where only a tenth of the grapes from about 70 hectares of vines are made into wine, in a cellar built in 1828. Stonewall, named after the low wall around the farmyard, makes Cabernet Sauvignon, the Rubèr blend, Chardonnay and Felice, a fortified Merlot. Tastings are by appointment in the farm's converted stables, and there's a guest cottage and suite.
