About
The Nel family has grown vines and distilled brandy at Calitzdorp since 1880; Carel Nel runs the cellar with his daughter Margaux as winemaker. Boplaas is known for Cape port-style wines and table wines from Portuguese varieties, as well as potstill brandy, gin and whisky. The tasting room on Saayman Street pours wines and spirits with cheese and charcuterie platters, brandy and whisky pairings and cocktails, and the Ring of Rocks stone circle stands on the property.
