About

The Nel family's farm on the Gamka River at Calitzdorp, bought in 1890 and run by brothers Boets and Stroebel Nel, with Christoff de Wet as cellar master. It's known for port-style wines and dry reds from Portuguese varieties such as Touriga Nacional, and for Moscato Perlé. There's a tasting room, a bistro and deli under a trellised Hanepoot vineyard, a 30-minute vineyard walk, and pick-your-own apricots around the end of November and Hanepoot grapes in February.
