About

A family farm at Herold in the Outeniqua mountains, reached by the Montagu Pass above George, where Pinot Noir was first planted in 1999 at the foot of Cradock Peak. The Fourie family has run it since 2010, and Nico Fourie makes Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and rosé from about 8 hectares, the only cellar in the Outeniqua ward. There are tastings, cellar tours with Nico, a bistro with cheese platters and wood-fired pizzas, picnics, farm cottages and mountain trails.
