Plettenberg Bay

The vineyards around Plettenberg Bay, on the Garden Route about 520 km east of Cape Town, became a Wine of Origin district in 2006 and cover only about 55 hectares. Sea breezes keep them cool, which suits Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and sparkling Cap Classique. The small family cellars sit at Harkerville, in the forest west of town, and in The Crags to the east, and most serve lunch alongside the tasting.
