Wellington
Wellington sits below the Hawequa mountains and the Bainskloof Pass, about 45 minutes from Cape Town past Paarl. Its warm slopes grow Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, often from old vines, and its nurseries raise most of the Cape's vine cuttings. The cellars sit close together along the Bovlei, Blouvlei and Hexberg roads, and many small family cellars pour by appointment.
